This channel hook can be attached to a channel and will save a copy of that channel's XML feed every time it changes.
This is particularly useful when trying to track down problems in fast-changing feeds when XML errors can be reported by a user but have disappeared by the time somebody gets around to looking at it.
Simply attach the hook to an Awasu channel in the normal way. You must configure a directory where each saved XML feed file will be stored. You can also specify how many generations you want to keep.
Each saved XML feed file is named by the date/time it was created (YYYY.MM.DD-HH.MM.SS.xml). This can cause problems if you save the output from more than one channel to the same directory since the filenames might clash. It would be possible to modify the hook to generate unique filenames but this was deemed to be more trouble than it was worth since it's much easier keeping each channel's saved feed files in separate directories anyway.
Source is included for this channel hook along with a compiled stand-alone EXE. The hook's configuration file (SaveChannelFeeds.hook) points to the stand-alone EXE by default so if you want to tweak the source, don't forget to change the .HOOK file to point to the script instead. You will also need Python installed.
The standalone EXE was compiled using Python 2.4.2, pywin32-205 and py2exe-0.6.3.
